Mobile gaming constitutes 57% of the $173 billion video game industry.

And they are markedly different to the games that I grew up playing – skills were more important to win compared to random chance or $.

I do play mobile video games and can see how certain levers such as Variable Rewards & RNG play a big role in the game design.

It’s important to know how we’re being sold to (or manipulated or tricked depending on your point of view), so that we can make more informed choices and more importantly, teach our children the same.
